In a pivot door the leaf hangs on a pivot mechanism turning on a top and bottom axis instead of hinges, so leaves wider and heavier than any hinged door can carry rotate effortlessly. GLR-51 handles wide, heavy leaves with a frame-and-threshold construction 119 mm wide and 44 mm high; it is completed with an aluminium or glass panel, the ED-series door collection and multi-point locking. For villa entrances, hotel lobbies and prestigious office doors.

How wide can a pivot door be?
Where hinged doors stop at about 1.2 m, pivot doors reach 1.5–2 m; weight and size are calculated at the dealer's survey against the pivot mechanism's capacity.
Does a pivot door swing in the wind?
A hydraulic pivot closer controls the leaf speed and holds it at the chosen angle; on façades with high wind loads an external canopy is recommended.
