GLR-53 Insulated Opening System
Combining high thermal insulation with a robust sash structure and advanced sealing details, GLR-53 delivers windows and doors approaching passive-house level with a Uw value of 0.90 W/m²K.
GLR-53 is the Grande Series opening system developed for thermal comfort. A 33 mm high-performance thermal break, insulation foam placed inside the frame and a 40–62 mm glazing range reach a thermal transmittance of Uw 0.90 W/m²K; the 87 mm sash and 76 mm frame carry 120–200 kg sashes. Triple glazing with integral blinds and precisely adjustable lock strikes make it the choice for energy-efficient homes and offices.

Frequently asked questions
What does Uw 0.90 W/m²K mean?
It is the thermal transmittance of the whole window (profile + glass); the lower the value, the less heat is lost. 0.90 W/m²K is far below standard aluminium windows (1.4–2.0) and close to the passive-house threshold (0.80).
When should GLR-53 be chosen over LR-5100?
GLR-53 is preferred in projects with high energy-certificate targets, planned triple glazing, or glass up to 62 mm thick.
