Folding Glass Balcony Systems
A sliding-folding glass balcony is the most common way to turn a balcony into a room: the panels stack to the side and the balcony opens completely. The Albert Genau family offers four models, from the insulated Tiara Twinmax to the budget Statü Tango.
The quality of a folding glass balcony is decided by how the rollers, gaskets, locks and water drainage are solved. Albert Genau folding systems come with 8 stainless rollers per panel, EPDM and magnetic gaskets, a hidden condensation channel and performance certified at the PfB institute in Germany. They suit straight, angled and curved (85°–275°) balconies, and corners open without a fixed post.

Folding or sliding glass balcony?
A folding system opens the balcony completely and lets you clean the outer glass surfaces from inside; a sliding system stacks its panels when open, so at least one panel width of glass stays in place, but offers wider panels and a cleaner look. Choose folding if the balcony will mostly be open, sliding if it will mostly be closed.
Do I need insulated glass?
If you want to merge the balcony with the living room or kitchen and keep the cold out in winter and the heat out in summer, yes: Tiara Twinmax insulates up to 5.1 times better than single glass. For protection from rain, wind and dust alone, the single-glazed Tiara 08/10 or the Statü series is sufficient.
Can a folding glass balcony be fitted to a curved balcony?
Yes. Tiara can be applied to angled and curved balcony geometries between 85° and 275°, and no fixed post is needed at the corners.
