Guillotine Glass Systems
In a guillotine glass system the panels travel vertically by remote control: no floor space is lost, the open system acts as a balustrade, and panels stop at any height for ventilation. Albert Genau developed the four-time award-winning Vertiflex platform for this purpose.
Vertiflex is a motorised guillotine window platform with 2, 3 or 4 panels on a chain mechanism driven by a Somfy motor or an Italian-made Albert Genau motor. It is available single-glazed (Mono) or with insulated glass (Twin); the inward-tilting panels let you wipe the outer surfaces from inside, and an anti-fall brake and jam-free profile design complete the safety package. It is used on residential balconies, winter gardens and restaurant façades.

Does a guillotine glass balcony open during a power cut?
In motorised systems the panels stay locked in position when power fails; they can be moved with an optional battery backup or manual release. These options are decided together at the dealer's survey.
How many panels does a guillotine glass system have?
Vertiflex is made with 2, 3 or 4 panels; Statü Impetus comes with 3 panels as standard. The number depends on the balcony height and the opening you want when the system is up.
How long is the motor warranty?
Albert Genau-branded motors made in Italy carry a 5-year warranty; the Somfy motor option is covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
